Sea Ray believes that richer moments on the water lead to a richer life. And that is what the new SLX 260 Inboard and Outboard models represent. 

Outboard or inboard engine

Sea Ray expands its premium SLX lineup with the new 260, which is available as an Inboard (sterndrive) or Outboard configuration. These two models feature the brand’s new design components, which were first seen on the Sundancer 370 HB in 2021. The S-shaped deck line, central passage, elongated bow, and the Sea Ray logo incorporated into the hull.

A team of women designers developed these initial models. The sterndrive SLX 260 is 7.75 meters long and powered with a 350 horsepower Mercruiser 6.2 L engine. This configuration provides a cruising speed of roughly 23.5 knots at 3,500 RPM, a range of approximately 172 miles (150 nm) in addition to a fuel tank capacity of 284 L. The Outboard engine is a 300-hp Mercury Verado. Both versions have the cutting-edge digital control system coupled with Throttle & Shift (DTS).

There aren’t many differences between the two versions except for the range, the weight, and speed. Being lighter, the outboard version has 26.5 knots cruising speed and gets you to any destination in no time. The Inboard version however has a higher range at cruising speed, which makes it the perfect option for longer and calmer trips. 

A new design

First and foremost, the SLX 260 is comfortable for day journeys. It can carry up to 15 passengers on board.

In order to upgrade the ergonomics and comfort of the seats, they have become deeper. The L-shaped cockpit bench seat allows people to socialize safely, even underway. Storages underneath may be fitted with cooler(s) for storing food or beverages. The bow has a U-shaped bench seat with backrests facing the sea and folding armrests. It’s possible to close it with a door and outfit it with shades. The comfort pack includes a teak table and cushions and turns this space into a pleasant dining space or a sunbathing area in the middle of the sea. 

The sundeck at the stern faces the swimming platform with a bathing ladder and an optional swim step. The practical storage underneath the sundeck has more storage space than prior models. It has a built-in refrigerator as well as a storage bin for inflated toys. The water ski storage on the cockpit floor has increased, as well.

Cockpit improvements

The huge lapel windshield shields the cockpit, and it has a center opening. The redesign of the windshield aligns it with the horizon when planning. The storage on the port side of the double console optionally becomes a bathroom with a sink. 

The pilot station is on the starboard side. The instrument panel has two Simrad 9’’ Dual Digital Dash that display: 

• Active Trim control & monitoring
• Chartplotter
• CZone® digital switching
• Mercury Marine® VesselView® (Link for the Mobile App)
• Transducer with depth, water temperature & fish finder, 

Moreover, optional features such as LED lighting or the Fusion ® Premier Audio System controls are then also featured on the touchscreens.

The optional Entertainment pack has an inductive cell-phone charging module, as well. 

The brand-new design of the optional Power Tower with a T-top. Remove the canvas to fully enjoy the sun. The extended sunshade is automatic. Raise and lower it simply by pressing a button.
